Biography
Hailing from Canada, Daniel Negreanu was born on July 26, 1974, in Toronto. However, his heritage is a bit more interesting as his parents immigrated to Canada all the way from Romania to provide a better life for their children. Daniel was exceptionally good at mathematics, particularly probability, a skill developed early on which helped him in his poker career later on in life.
As a teen, Negreanu liked to frequent pool halls to play pool, poker, and other card games. He would even place bets on sporting events. This exposure led him to take poker more seriously, so he dropped out of high school towards the end of his senior year and started playing full-time poker for local charity casinos.
