Video interview with Comicbook
In a video interview with Comicbook.com that aired on Saturday, the actor who played Zorro in 1998’s “The Mask of Zorro” and 2005’s “The Legend of Zorro” said that his “Uncharted” co-star Tom Holland would be a great choice for the role.
When asked about the possibility of making a third “Zorro” movie, Banderas said, “If they asked me to do “Zorro,” I would do what Anthony Hopkins did for me and pass the torch.” In the first movie, Hopkins passed the lead to Banderas.
Banderas gushed about Holland Says:
“He’s so busy and fun.” They said, “He’s got that something.”
The actor who used to be on “Spy Kids” has expressed interest in coming back to the show.
Yes, in a word. I wouldn’t say that couldn’t happen. Banderas added, “I don’t see why not.”
I may have said something like this in interviews today: “I told them that if they called it Zorro, I’d do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie and pass the mantle to someone else,” he said.
Catherine Zeta-Jones was also a main character in Martin Campbell’s “Zorro” movies. Banderas got his start in Spanish movies with director Pedro Almodovar. In the 1990s, he had a string of hits in other countries, like “Desperado,” “Evita,” and “Philadelphia.”
Banderas is currently promoting another sequel, the upcoming animated film “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” from DreamWorks. However, there are currently no plans for a new “Zorro” movie.
